Cranberry Nut Bread recipe

Cranberry nut bread@1800 Culinary Team Member Alicia Thompson has fond memories of her grandmother bringing cranberry nut bread to Easter brunch. Read her recipe so you can make a loaf this Sunday.

Each holiday that the family would get together, my grandma would always bring her cranberry nut bread served with cream cheese. Everyone loved it, so I thought I would share.

Sift Together:

2 Cups Flour

½ tsp Salt

1 ½ tsp Baking Powder

½ tsp Baking Soda

¼ Cup Sugar (You can add more if you like)

Then Add:

1 Cup Orange Mixture (Juice of one orange plus water to make one cup)

Zest from 1 Orange

2 Tb Melted Butter

1 Large Egg Beaten

Mix together then add:

1 Cup Chopped Cranberries or 1 Cup Craisins

1 Cup Coarsely Chopped Nuts

Bake 1 hour 10 minutes in a greased and floured loaf pan at 325 degrees.
